Legacy Transport

Breaking Barriers,

Building Futures

Returning from incarceration or navigating life with a criminal record presents some of the greatest barriers to employment. No moment feels more limiting than when you’re ready to change your life—but employers won’t give you a chance. Legacy Transport was built to change that.

This innovative workforce development and social benefit program provides participants with real-world experience, bridging the gap between readiness and long-term employment. In partnership with the Worcester County Food Bank and neighborhood pantries, participants gain hands-on job training while giving back to their communities. Every month, they deliver over 100,000 pounds of food to families in need—proving that meaningful work and community impact can go hand in hand.

We Are a Community

How It Works

  • Mondays: Participants take digital literacy courses at Quinsigamond Community College (QCC) to strengthen their tech skills.
  • Tuesday–Friday: They handle food transport and distribution, ensuring fresh produce and essential goods reach neighborhood pantries.

This isn’t just about finding a job—it’s about keeping a job. Traditional soft skills workshops fall short because transformation isn’t built in an 8-hour classroom session. Instead, Legacy Transport embeds learning into daily experience, helping participants develop workplace habits, problem-solving skills, and the resilience needed to transition into long-term employment.

We’re here to build consistent, reliable workers who can sustain employment and create real change in their lives. Legacy Transport isn’t just a program—it’s a second chance, a stepping stone, and a pathway to something greater

We Are a brotherhood

Sense of Purpose: Healing Through Service

At Legendary Legacies, we recognize that true transformation involves not only personal growth but also making amends and contributing positively to the community. Our Legacy Transport program embodies this philosophy by providing participants with the opportunity to address food insecurity – a pressing issue in our community. By delivering over 100,000 pounds of food monthly to neighborhood pantries, participants directly witness the impact of their efforts, fostering a profound sense of purpose in their work.

Research indicates that having a sense of purpose is associated with numerous positive outcomes, including better physical health, increased resilience, and improved psychological well-being. A study published in the American Journal of Health Promotion found that individuals with a higher sense of purpose had a reduced risk of mortality and better health behaviors. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

By engaging in meaningful service, participants not only contribute to the well-being of their community but also experience personal healing and growth. This dual impact reinforces the transformative power of purpose-driven work, highlighting the importance of serving others as a pathway to personal redemption and societal reintegration.
